About this design

A giant spotted mushroom cap crowns a gnarled tree trunk, with a cluster of small toadstools growing beneath it, all drawn in black and grey ink on white. Two square frames with dark inked centers sit on either side of the trunk base, while a third frame hides in the spots of the cap. Blotchy dark and pale patches across the bark and cap carry the modules. Heavy black shading against bare white paper keeps the pattern crisp, and fine hatching and stipple dots add texture around the roots.
