About this design

A pair of spread feathered wings rises over a knot of thorny vines, drawn in solid black ink on a plain white ground. Square frames set beneath the wings and in the lower right act as the finder squares, each with a small floral etching inside. The vine tangle and dark feather masses carry the modules, with white thread-like thorns cutting through the black. Strong black and white contrast keeps the pattern clear, and a tapered blade-like tail points down from the centre.
