Black sumi-e brush strokes scatter across off-white washi paper, forming loose kanji-like glyphs with dry-brush edges and small ink drips at the bottom. Three hand-drawn enso circles, each holding a bold character, disguise the finder squares, while the dense calligraphic marks carry the modules. Heavy black ink against the pale ground gives strong contrast, and the strokes stay spaced apart so the pattern reads clearly. Varied pressure and speed give thick, tapering and feathered strokes across the sheet.
