About this design

A cracked skull in profile, wrapped in ivy leaves and clusters of small white wildflowers, sits in the center of a plain white background. Square frames sit over the eye socket and the jaw, and a leaf-filled frame sits on the forehead, so the finder squares read as part of the bone and foliage. Solid black leaf shapes and flower silhouettes spread across the cheek and temple carry the modules against the pale skull. Strong black and white contrast and sparse gray shading keep the pattern clear, while thin stray vines and stipple dots frame the head.
