About this design

A protea bloom in black and white, with long pointed gray petals fanning out around a dense, dark central cluster. Three square frames set into the middle of the flower stand in for the finder squares, while the inked clusters of small petals and scrollwork carry the dark and light modules. Heavy black fills against bare white gaps keep the pattern sharp, and thin white outlines separate each petal from the next. The soft gray gradients on the outer petals give the flower a flat tattoo flash look.
