About this design

A tangle of swirling ink lines fills the frame with eyes and mouths of every shape and size, set against a solid black background. Large eyes with ringed pupils and lashes take the place of the finder squares, while blobs, ovals and dots of solid black carry the modules across the white linework. Heavy black shapes against fine white hatching keep the pattern distinct from the busy detail around it. Curling ribbons of filigree wrap the edges and give the whole drawing a surreal art brut feel.
