About this design

A single hibiscus bloom with ruffled black and white petals sits among fine-line leaves and a few solid dark leaves, all drawn on a clean white ground. Three framed leaf motifs take the place of the finder squares, while the blotchy petal shapes and the flower's inner stamens carry the dark and light modules. Heavy black fills against thin outlines give the pattern strong contrast, and the delicate veined leaves around the edge stay light so the center reads clearly. Long curved stems and a radiating leaf fan add a flash-sheet tattoo feel.
