About this design

A glazed ceramic plate on a dark wooden stand, painted with snowy mountains, red-roofed cottages, pine trees and a teal waterfall. The finder squares are disguised as rust and cream glaze blocks set into the dark brown rim and the sky area. The remaining modules are drips and dabs of amber glaze above the peaks, while the scene below stays pictorial. Strong contrast between the dark brown glaze and the pale teal center keeps the pattern legible, and the glossy highlights add a handmade look.
