About this design

A watercolor painting of colored squares in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple, with soft washes bleeding into one another on cream paper. Nested squares in lavender, olive and orange-red disguise the finder squares, each ringed in a contrasting hue. Irregular blobs of crimson, maroon and dusty blue carry the modules across the middle of the sheet. Dark reds and deep blues against pale peach and yellow keep the pattern readable, and the uneven pigment pooling gives it a hand-painted feel.
