About this design

A cream ceramic plate with a thin gold rim, hand-painted with black and brown botanical leaves, seen from above beside green houseplant foliage. Three small square tiles framed in black or brown glaze, each holding a single leaf or flower, disguise the finder squares. Branches, speckled leaf discs and a brown inkblot-like cluster of leaves carry the dark and light modules across the plate. The dark brown and black strokes sit against pale glaze, which keeps the pattern clear.
