Abandoned clapboard houses with broken windows, peeling pale blue paint and patches of moss are pieced together from torn paper, with newspaper scraps scattered along the bottom edge. Dark window frames and the two boarded doorways on the lower half give the finder squares their solid look, while the ragged holes, moss clumps and clapboard lines supply the light and dark modules. Strong contrast between the dark openings and the cream and blue paper keeps the pattern legible throughout. The torn white edges and rust-brown stains give the whole piece a worn, archival feel.
